Welcome to Comfort Keepers Tualatin
Our office in Tualatin was opened two years ago this past September by Bob Henriksen. Bob's Mother had died a few years before, at the age of eighty six. Bob's brother had acted as her full time caregiver for over two years. He had given her the thing she had wanted most - the ability to stay in her own home. When Bob came to understand the gift that his brother had given their Mom, Bob started this Comfort Keepers office so that he could do the same for others.
All of our Comfort Keepers are direct employees; we use no contracted personnel. We are particular in our selection of Comfort Keepers and thorough in our training. Background screening is performed on all applicants prior to hire. I have two personal rules regarding Comfort Keepers: I won't send a Comfort Keeper to a client that I wouldn't send to my Mom; and I wond't send a Comfort Keeper anywhere I wouldn't send my daughter.
We carefully select the Comfort Keeper to be assigned to each client, based on an in-depth assessment of their needs and the skill, experience, training, and personality of the Comfort Keeper. A number of our Comfort Keepers have experience with dementia care (Alzheimer's care training). Others have experience working with clients undergoing rehabilitation following discharge from a rehab facility, assisting with excercise programs laid out by a Physical Therapist, assuring that the programs are followed when the therapist isn't there. We can provide respite care, giving family caregivers a break. We will provide in-home care any hours or days desired, including overnight or 24/7.
We frequently work with skilled home health care agencies, hospice agencies, and rehabilitation centers, as well as with hospital discharge planners to assist you in a smooth transition from hospital to home. We have Comfort Keepers trained to assist you in your transition from home to a facility such as Independent Living Facility, Assisted Living Facility, or a full care Nursing Home, and we can provide you with any services you may need while residing in any of these facilities.
