Welcome to Comfort Keepers Tualatin

Comfort Keepers was founded over ten years ago by a home health nurse, Kris Clum, whose job it was to visit patients in their homes, to perform a variety of medical duties.  Her typical visit was one hour or less for each patient.  Just about every one of her patients asked her to stay, just for a while, to talk, or have tea, or to give some help with chores.  Her schedule wouldn't permit that, and it bothered her.  She saw what kind of help and just plain comfort and companionship was desperately needed by her patients.  And so she created Comfort Keepers to do all of those things that she couldn't.  Kris is still a Comfort Keeper in Ohio today.

Bob Henriksen started the office in Tualatin about two years ago after learning Kris's story.  Bob's Mother had died a few years earlier, at the age of eighty-six.  Bob's brother had acted as her full time care giver for over two years.  He had given her the thing she wanted most - the ability to stay in her own home.  When Bob came to understand the gift that his brother had given their Mom, Bob too needed to become a Comfort Keeper so that he could do the same for others.

All of the special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home care, who we call Comfort Keepers, are direct employees; we use no contracted personnel.  We are particular in our selection of Comfort Keepers and thorough in our training.  Background screening is performed on all applicants prior to hire.  I have two personal rules regarding Comfort Keepers:  I won't hire a Comfort Keeper that I wouldn't send to my Mother/Father; and I won't send a Comfort Keeper anywhere I wouldn't send my daughter/son.  We carefully select the Comfort Keeper to be assigned to each client, based on an in-depth assessment of those needs and the skill, experience, training, and personality of the Comfort Keeper.
