Who We Are
Owner Caroline Cowdrey is a Certified Senior Advisor with extensive knowledge and experience in helping people age gracefully in their own homes. Prior to owning Comfort Keepers in Towson, she earned over 30 years of experience as a social worker, at the county, state and federal levels of government agencies. Caroline's primary responsibilities include meeting with people and families exploring the option of in-home care.
Owner Anita Cowdrey Read heads the Human Resources and Accounting areas of responsibility. Her primary focus is to hire honest, responsible caregivers who are skilled and kind, through a tough screening process and continuing training program. Before owning Comfort Keepers in Towson, Anita had over 20 years of experience in the private and non-profit sectors as a manager and a trainer; she also had her own private psychotherapy practice for 10 years.
RN Trish Rosankowski has two key areas of focus: 1: quarterly evaluations of each client, assuring they are receiving the appropriate level of care; 2: oversite of the caregivers, confirming their skills meet or exceed state requirements and providing courses that continuously improve caregiver skills. Trish is passionate about quality care for the elderly and works with our Comfort Keepers every day to assure they are prepared to provide you with the service you want.
Schedulers Debbie Braxton and JoEllen Serroca are responsible for filling all the appointments. They work closely with Caroline and Anita to learn the needs of each client so they can build a team of Comfort Keepers best-matched to work with your loved one. The "team" approach allows for the client to get to know several Comfort Keepers who are always there - and not a different person each time.
Comfort Keepers are our caregivers. We hire the best people we can find - highly skilled and kind. They all receive training upon hiring and on a contuing basis. We prepare our caregivers to focus on the physical, mental and emotional aspects of our clients' well-being. We periodically visit each client when the Comfort Keeper is there; we want to know our clients' feedback about their care, which can prompt additional training sessions for Comfort Keepers.
