Elder Care in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania

Comfort Keepers® gives families the freedom to be as involved in their loved one’s in-home care as their responsibilities with work and their own family allow. Depending on each senior’s and family’s needs we can schedule our Comfort Keepers to provide as little as three hours of care a week to full-time, 24/7 senior care. We help seniors maintain an independent lifestyle in the comfort of home—where they most want to be—while giving their families the comfort of knowing their loved one is safe and in good hands.

We offer seniors and their families free in-home assessments to help them learn whether Comfort Keepers is the best choice for their elder care requirements. From these assessments we develop care plans, customized to match each client’s and family’s specific needs. In the process, we get to know a lot about the senior so we can match him or her with the Comfort Keeper who is the best fit in terms of personality, interests and skills—to provide the best experience possible.

After we begin serving a client and family, we review the client’s plan of home care on a regular basis and revise it as needed to reflect the client’s and family’s changing needs. To provide our clients a complete senior care solution, we partner with a network of other senior and health care providers. We often serve seniors in assisted living facilities when they need extra assistance. We also work with local hospice and home health care agencies, providing patients supportive services as needed.

The Comfort Keepers Difference

Comfort Keepers serving areas of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, knows from experience the assistance families need as they help aging parents continue living at home, happily, independently and safely. We know what families need, because we have been there ourselves. And because of this, we hire only caregivers who genuinely care about seniors and for whom caregiving is not “just” a job, but a calling.

Our caregivers truly care. To find genuine caregivers – compassionate Comfort Keepers – we utilize an extensive screening process. As we screen candidates, we look for people we would have no reservations choosing to care for our own parents—people who possess a natural gift and desire to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors.

Our screening process begins with a phone interview to narrow the candidate pool. We then conduct face-to-face interviews and reference and background checks. And before they begin caring for clients, our Comfort Keepers must complete extensive orientation and caregiver training. Once hired and caring for clients our caregivers complete ongoing training throughout their service with us.

Our style of caregiving also sets us apart. We call it Interactive Caregiving™. As they care for clients, our Comfort Keepers engage them physically, mentally, socially and emotionally in their care. They do this as they intersperse daily companionship and caregiving services with a stimulating mix of activities that enrich their clients’ lives. These Interactive Caregiving™ activities include seniors’ favorite hobbies, exercise such as walks around the neighborhood, reminiscing, puzzles, cooking and visits with friends and trips to church and other favorite places. Such activities have been proven to improve seniors’ quality of life and level of independence.
