About Our Home Care Services

Wendi Wetzel, who founded the Comfort Keepers office serving areas of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, in 2006, knows from experience the kind of help adult children need and desire as they care for their aging parents amidst life’s other responsibilities, such as work and caring for their own family. When her mother passed away and her father struggled with Alzheimer’s disease, she discovered firsthand the difficulty of finding a trusted in-home caregiving provider.

Today, Wendi operates her Comfort Keepers franchise from the perspective of a daughter who wants to be sure her parent receives loving, professional care. Wendi opened the franchise after extensively researching a variety of in-home care providers. She found that Comfort Keepers was the best fit, providing families with genuinely helpful solutions.

She said, “It is hard work to do it right, but the payoff is great when you meet families where they are and provide meaningful solutions. It is a privilege to be able to meet families’ needs and relieve their stress so they have the freedom to enjoy their time together.

“We give people freedom – the freedom to live independently, the freedom to know that an aging parent will be taken care of in a loving manner, and the freedom for seniors to be involved in favorite activities that they might not otherwise be able to continue.”

Our Comfort Keepers Team

Our team of compassionate caregivers, our Comfort Keepers, receives the constant support of a skilled administrative team, which is available 24/7 to help families develop and maintain a care plan that achieves the optimal balance of independent living and safety for their loved ones. The team includes:

  • Owner, Wendi Wetzel founded this Comfort Keepers Office from the perspective of a daughter.  She cared for her father through all the stages of Alzheimer’s disease.  From her experience she knows the kind of help families need.  It is her goal to maintain a staff of exceptionally gifted and skilled caregivers.
  • General Operations Manager, Eileen Erickson Hein.  She is responsible for all aspects of the office’s operations.  Eileen has earned the designation of Certified Senior Advisor from the Society of Certified Seniors Advisors. While a young adult she cared for her terminally ill mother at home.  As a result, she understands the value of having quality, compassionate caregivers to share the responsibility and relieve the stress of caring of a loved one.
  • Client Care Coordinator/Scheduler, Mary C. Steiner.  She enjoys making a positive difference in our clients’ and their families’ lives.  Mary takes great care in matching clients and caregivers, because she knows that good matches, based on personality, interests and care needs promote excellent outcomes for our clients and their families.
  • Caregiver Field Support Coordinator, Barbara Keelen.  She helps recruit, train, and retain caregivers who meet the Pennsylvania state competency standards while holding true to the Comfort Keepers brand of compassionate and interactive care giving.
