Buena Park, CA Comfort Keepers
At Comfort Keepers, nothing is more important than helping people live full, independent and dignified lives within the comfort of their own homes. Comfort Keepers is dedicated to providing in-home care that enriches our clients' lives and helps them maintain the highest possible level of independent living.
Comfort Keepers provide you or a loved one in-home assistance that may include:
- Companionship Care: Whether it is meal preparation, friendly conversation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, incidental transportation or family relief, companionship care provides a wide range of in-home services that enable seniors to live happier, safer, and more fulfilling lives.
- Personal Care: For those who need a higher level of hands-on assistance, personal care includes a compassionate, sensitive approach to life’s daily concerns, such as feeding, toileting, mobility, and bathing.
- Emergency Response System: To provide seniors and their loved ones with the peace of mind that comes from emergency monitoring, Carole and Mathew’s office is one of the larger distributors and managers of emergency response systems in the area, using only the latest technology available on the market so that you or a loved one can call for help instantly from anywhere in your home.
- Fall Detector: Living at home alone can be an issue of concern for seniors, but with the Comfort Keepers fall detector service, you or your loved one can know that even in the unfortunate case of a fall, the appropriate Emergency Medical Services will be contacted and help sent right away.
- Medication Management System: Taking the right medications at the right time is critical to reducing hospitalization. A member of the Comfort Keepers team can consult and install everything from reminder programs to actual medication dispensers. Medication management systems help seniors continue their medication regimen regularly and properly.
- Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care: Unlike many other senior care agencies, Comfort Keepers requires each of their caregivers to undergo Alzheimer’s and Dementia training, so that they can provide better care to those suffering with Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, and other difficult cognitive deficiencies.
- Geriatric Care: To address the complex needs of older people, Comfort Keepers’ geriatric care program specifically prepares their caregivers to give the appropriate, compassionate response that is essential for in-home geriatric care.
- Stroke Recovery: The road to recuperation after a stroke or heart attack can be a difficult one, but with Comfort Keepers’ stroke recovery program, you or a loved one will receive the care that is necessary for the best possible recovery, including transfers, social support, encouragement, and dietary needs.
- Hospice Support Care: Comfort Keepers provides hospice care and support for those struggling with end-of-life issues, including transportation, grocery shopping, and handling many of the day-to-day details that can seem overwhelming in such difficult circumstances.
- Emphysema Care: When it comes to the difficult everyday issues of dealing with such a disease as emphysema, Comfort Keepers’ caregivers will work with you or your loved one to create a positive and life-affirming program to reach for the best possible quality of life and personal health.

Comfort Keepers® of Buena Park, California, offers a full range of in-home care services for seniors and other adults who need help with their activities of daily living in and around the areas of Downey, Lakewood, Whittier, and Buena Park. Our caregivers—who we call Comfort Keepers®—enable clients to maintain a high quality of independent living in the comfort of their own homes.
We tailor care to meet each family and client’s specific needs, from only a few hours of service a week to 24-hour care, seven days a week—and any amount in between.
What Sets Us Apart
At Comfort Keepers, we are very flexible and responsive to individual senior care needs. Comfort Keepers offers clients and their families a wide degree of service flexibility—from a few hours a week, to provide family caregivers a respite, to full-time and any amount in between—whatever is needed to best serve each client.
Unlike most in-home care providers that require at least four hours of service on a given day, we can schedule as few as two hours a day.
We’re accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and someone is always available to answer your calls.
We work with families to adjust senior care services as needed to meet the changing needs of our clients.
We offer free in-home assessments to determine your and your loved one’s needs, and we work with families to develop a care plan that is unique to each individual. We always strive to provide the most appropriate level of service to maximize each client’s quality of life and independence.
Comfort Keepers’ approach to in-home care—what we call Interactive Caregiving™—further separates us from other senior care providers. We involve our clients in their home care plan and offer them a mix of physical activity, mental stimulation, emotional support and social engagement that promotes their independence and quality of life.
In addition to providing homemaking and personal care services, our Comfort Keepers®—the name we give the special people who deliver Comfort Keepers’ special brand of in-home care—take walks with clients, work on puzzles with clients, engage in conversation, take clients to church or social events … all types of activities that are important to them and enrich their lives.
There are numerous studies that validate that this type of in-home caregiving promotes the health and well-being of seniors.
We Carefully Select & Prepare Our Comfort Keepers
Because they are the key to our success in effective in-home care, our Comfort Keepers go through a thorough screening, interviewing, orientation and training process. They must pass extensive local and national criminal background checks, and they complete multiple interviews. For our clients’ and their families’ peace of mind, we bond and insure our Comfort Keepers and cover them with Workers’ Compensation insurance.
We look for caregivers who have already had professional training as nursing or home health aides, and we provide our own specialized training—including annual coursework to enable our Comfort Keepers to maintain and enhance their skills and quality of care
To further assure clients of the quality and dependability of our service, Comfort Keepers uses a computerized caregiver scheduling and tracking system that monitors caregivers as they arrive and leave clients’ homes.
To Meet Your Needs, We’re Flexible
We customize senior care plans to meet the specific needs of each client and family, from a few hours a week to provide valuable respite care for family members, to full-time care for those dealing with situations that demand around-the-clock attention.
We regularly review these plans with clients and families and modify them appropriately as clients’ circumstances and needs change. Whether they’re struggling with Alzheimer’s/dementia, disabilities, or simply the effects of aging, it is always our goal to help seniors receive the care they need to enjoy an optimum level of independent living and quality of life.
