Welcome to Marin County Comfort Keepers®

Personal Caregiving for seniors in Marin County

We help seniors live happy, healthy lives in the comfort of their own homes by providing quality, compassionate caregivers for personal care (such as help with bathing, grooming, transferring, and toileting) and companion care (help with meal preparation, medicine reminders, and transportation). Our caregivers take care of our clients where they're most comfortable -- in their own homes.

Comfort Keepers provides quality in-home care services for seniors across Marin County, including San Rafael, Novato, Mill Valley, Tiburon, and Sausalito.  Most commonly, our clients are those who've been discharged from one of Marin County's hospitals or skilled nursing facilities. While in the hospital or facility, a discharge planner or case manager may recommend that you call Comfort Keepers to help ease your transition back home. In that case, Comfort Keepers can provide service for you within minutes of your discharge. Whether your family needs round-the-clock (live-in) care, or just a few hours a day, Comfort Keepers is there for you.

Additionally, our team cares for dozens of families whose primary caregiver simply needs a break, or respite, from day-to-day care for a loved one. Often, primary caregivers are part of the sandwich generation, meaning he or she is caring for both their own children as well as their parents. Over time, the pressure and time commitments prove to be too great, so families hire Comfort Keepers to continue providing the excellent care that their parents need and deserve.

We provide two basic types of care: in-home care and personal care.

In-home care is help with meal preparation, transportation, companionship, light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and medication reminders.

Personal care is help with what are commonly referred to as activities of daily living, which include grooming, dressing, eating, transferring (i.e. from bed to chair), toileting, and ambulating (i.e. moving around, as opposed to being bedridden).

In addition to maintaining relationships with discharge planners and case managers at all area hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, Comfort Keepers also works with most long-term care insurance providers. As a service and convenience to our clients who have long-term care policies, we will complete all paperwork, file all claims, and track payments received from the providers. This way, your family can enjoy the benefits of the policy without having to do any of the work!

Our caregivers, known as Comfort Keepers, are loving, compassionate people who've devoted their lives and careers to helping others. Rest assured that Comfort Keepers thoroughly recruits, trains, and background checks every caregiver before he or she joins our team. In addition, our caregivers are our own employees, meaning that we pay all payroll taxes and workers' compensation insurance for them. Finally, our caregivers are bonded and insured, giving you the appropriate peace of mind before a caregiver enters your home.
