About Comfort Keepers® of Easton, MD

Bill & Jean ShrievesBill and Jean Shrieves moved to the Eastern Shore in 1999. Shortly after moving they founded a community service organization called the Bay Hundred Community Volunteers. They quickly realized that most of the people they were helping were elderly. In 2004, they became aware of Comfort Keepers because a friend in Dayton, Ohio was using their services. They decided to open a Comfort Keepers location on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the fall of 2004 and opened for business in February 2005. Today, they have an office in Easton with over 100 caregivers, they provide 2,000 hours of care for seniors.

"This is business that you can feel good about, said Bill Shrieves.  We have a positive effect on the lives of seniors on the Eastern Shore. Comfort Keepers practices a philosophy that we call Interactive Caregiving. Simply described, this means Doing With and Not For.  We engage our clients in the task we are performing to the extent that they are capable of participating. We strive to keep them Physically Active, Mentally Stimulated, Socially Engaged and Emotionally Strong. Weather we are performing Companion Care or Personal Care Services we protect our client's pride, dignity and independence."
