Comprehensive In-Home Care Services
Our comprehensive range of in-home elder care services can be tailored to your or a loved one’s specific care needs – from just a few hours of service a week to 24/7 care. Our services include:
- Personal Care, which helps preserve seniors’ dignity, health and well-being. These services include help with hygiene, such as showering or bathing, skin and hair care, help with feeding, mobility assistance in the house and out in the community, incontinence and toileting care, and safe transfers in and out of chairs, bed and a wheelchair.
- Companionship Care offers seniors and other clients the assuring presence of Comfort Keepers, who assist with work around the house, such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, grooming and dressing assistance, medication reminders, errands and transportation for a variety of reasons, such as shopping, doctor’s appointments and trips to church, the library, cultural events and other favorite places. An important component of companionship care is keeping seniors active. Comfort Keepers encourage their clients to be active participants in their care and to take part in a variety of physical, mental and social activities that help them maintain better health and a more positive outlook on life.
- SafetyChoice® Technology Solutions are electronic devices that protect the safety and well-being of seniors between caregivers’ visits. They are monitored 24/7 at Comfort Keepers’ monitoring center. These devices include a medication management unit that keeps pills and other medicine organized and reminds seniors to take them on schedule for optimal health maintenance, and a personal emergency response system that allows seniors to summon help, with the push of a button, in the event of a fall, illness or other emergency.
- Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care is provided by specially trained Comfort Keepers to help families provide a safe, calming, at-home environment for loved ones with dementia.
- Post-Hospital Care and Support, provided by Comfort Keepers, helps seniors and other clients get needed rest and support so they can fully recover at home after a stay in the hospital.
- Hospice Care Support supplements in-home hospice nursing care with Comfort Keepers’ personal and companionship care services that promote quality of life and comfort – and needed encouragement for family members.
Setting the Standard of Excellence in Home Care
You’ll discover that Comfort Keepers provides in-home senior care beyond compare in its effectiveness for helping seniors maintain their independence. Here are a few reasons why:
- Only the best caregivers are hired as Comfort Keepers. Through our thorough process of three interviews and background checks, we make sure we find the best possible senior caregivers to hire as Comfort Keepers. Our top concern is identifying candidates who have a genuine, heartfelt concern and gift for serving seniors and helping them maintain their independence. The people we hire consider in-home senior care their calling – not a job. Whether it’s the middle of the day or night, they gratefully serve when called.
Another standard we use in selecting Comfort Keepers is making certain that we could, without hesitation, assign them to care for our own parents. To pass this critical test, candidates must prove they are highly compassionate, competent and trustworthy.
Regardless of how experienced they are when they join us, we provide extensive training for all Comfort Keepers in the distinctive Comfort Keepers brand of in-home elder care, which is designed to preserve seniors’ independence.
- Interactive Caregiving™. Comfort Keepers’ unique brand of in-home senior care, Interactive Caregiving, enhances the effectiveness of our senior care by encouraging seniors to play as active a role in daily caregiving activities as possible, such as helping with meal preparation, personal care or housecleaning. Comfort Keepers further strengthen their clients’ independence by providing them numerous opportunities to engage in physical, mental and social activities that enhance their level of independence, health and enjoyment of life. Examples of such activities include walking and other forms of physical exercise; mental activities such as playing games, solving puzzles and engaging in conversation and hobbies; and social activities such as visiting friends and going to favorite places, such as church, a senior center, the library or shopping.
- We take time to match clients and caregivers. We have discovered from experience that careful matching of clients and caregivers contributes to the effectiveness of caregiving. We make these matches based on personality, interests, and care needs and special training. Good matches serve as the foundation for strong client-caregiver relationships, which result in positive caregiving outcomes.
A Partnership
We approach in-home senior care as a partnership. Comfort Keepers gives families the freedom to choose how personally involved they wish to be in their loved one’s care. In some cases, families can’t be actively involved because they live too far away from their loved one. And in the cases of families who are actively involved in caregiving, Comfort Keepers provides respite care services. These allow family caregivers to take time off for needed rest or other responsibilities. But no matter how involved families are, we keep them fully informed about their loved one’s care and share our observations or concerns with them so they can make decisions as needed.
