Senior Care in Spearfish, South Dakota
Comfort Keepers® of Spearfish, South Dakota, offers seniors and their families a rich selection of in-home care services. These services can be customized in a care plan designed specifically to help each senior we serve live at home—where they most want to be—safely, happily, confidently and maintaining as much control as possible.
We give families the freedom to be as involved in their loved one’s senior care as they are able—and then we take care of the rest so they can rest assured their loved one is in good hands when they are at work or attending to other responsibilities. Depending on a senior’s needs, our compassionate caregivers—our Comfort Keepers—can provide from a few hours of care a week to full-time, 24/7 elder care.
To help you decide whether Comfort Keepers is the in-home care solution you need, we provide free in-home assessments. Call us to schedule your assessment. Our phone lines are always staffed. The assessment provides us the foundation to develop with you an appropriate in-home care plan. After we begin serving you, we will review this home care plan on a regular basis and modify it as needed to address changing needs.
We offer our clients and their families a complete senior care solution by partnering with a network of local senior and health care providers. Through this network, we offer our clients seamless transitions and an optimal level of safety and independence for each stage of life. Among our partners: social service professionals, home health care agencies, hospice and the Ft. Meade VA.
The Comfort Keepers Difference
Invite us for a free in-home assessment and you will soon see that Comfort Keepers of Spearfish, S.D., is not just another in-home care provider. We distinguish ourselves in a variety of ways:
- We are reliable, second to none, standing with our clients and their families, adapting as circumstances change, to continue promoting independent, in-home living.
- Our Comfort Keepers are professional caregivers who consider what they do for seniors and their families, not as a job, but as a calling. And they value each client as a unique individual, approaching caregiving on a personal, rather than task-oriented, level.
- We offer our Comfort Keepers extensive training to prepare them for our unique brand of caregiving—what we call Interactive Caregiving™—which enhances the quality of life of our clients physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.
- We have established an excellent working relationship with other care providers to provide seniors and their families seamless access to services we do not specialize in but may be needed to support their desire to continue living as independently as possible.
How We Choose Caregivers
When recruiting caregivers, we select only people who have an innate gift and desire to serve seniors. Only individuals like this have a chance of passing our intensive screening process.
We begin the process with an interview and assessment of skills and qualifications. The interview allows us to assess candidates’ professionalism and whether they have the heart of a caregiver. Candidates must also pass background checks. We hire no one who has a felony or misdemeanor record.
Once hired our Comfort Keepers complete orientation training that prepares them to deliver Comfort Keepers’ unique brand of care. Next, Comfort Keepers complete intensive training during their first 90 days of employment. And each year of their career with Comfort Keepers, they complete 15 hours of continuing education.
How We Match Clients and Comfort Keepers
Another reason for our success in meeting the independent-living needs of seniors is our attention to matching seniors and Comfort Keepers. Our Client Care team takes great care in matching clients and Comfort Keepers based on:
- The client’s care needs
- Skills and special training of the caregiver
- Common hobbies and interests
- Personality
Because we know our Comfort Keepers well, we are very successful in making matches that lead to satisfying results for the clients and families we serve.
