Comfort Keepers® of Rapid City, SD, offers a full complement of in-home care services that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of seniors and their families—enabling seniors to live happily, safely and maintaining as much control as possible in the comfort of their own homes. Our partners include home health agencies, hospice, trust officers, social services professionals and the Veterans Administration.

How Comfort Keepers Is Different

You will discover that Comfort Keepers of Rapid City, S.D., brings a special touch to in-home care. We arre not the typical provider. Here is where we stand out:

  • Our reliability is second to none. We stand beside our clients and their families as circumstances change.
  • Our caregivers—whom we call Comfort Keepers—approach in-home care not as a job but as a calling. Consequently, the care they provide is not task-oriented. Instead, it is client-oriented, as we focus on each client as a unique individual and not just the object of the services they request of us.
  • Our training program is extensive, because of the unique nature of our brand of care, Interactive Caregiving™, which actively engages seniors in their own care.
  • Our working relationship with referral sources is excellent. This teamwork with other care providers results in smooth transitions for seniors when they need other services to support their desire for independent living.

How We Select Comfort Keepers

Our process for recruiting and selecting caregivers also sets us apart from other in-home care providers. Only people with an undeniable gift and desire to serve seniors have a chance of making it through our rigorous screening process and becoming a Comfort Keeper.

We start with an interview and assessments of their qualifications. Through the interview we look for people who not only are experienced and present themselves well professionally, but also possess the heart of a caregiver.  We also conduct background checks, so we rule out candidates who have felony or misdemeanor records.

After being hired, our Comfort Keepers complete orientation training to prepare them for the Comfort Keepers brand of care. They then complete intensive training during their first 90 days of employment—and an additional 15 hours of training every year after that.

How We Match Clients and Caregivers

An additional key to the success of Comfort Keepers care is our attention to matching seniors with the most appropriate Comfort Keeper. Our Client Care team is a matchmaker who pairs clients and Comfort Keepers based on:

  • The needs of the client
  • Special skill sets of the caregiver
  • Personalities
  • Common interests

We know our Comfort Keepers well, so we are excellent at making matches that lead to successful, satisfying results for the clients and families we serve.
