In-Home Care in Franklin, North Carolina

Comfort Keepers® of Franklin, North Carolina, provides seniors and other adult clients the assistance they need—from nonmedical home care to home health nursing care—so they can continue living at home as independently, safely, healthfully and happily as possible.

From our extensive menu of in-home care services we can create a care plan to meet the exact needs of each client and family, providing from as little as four hours of service a week to 24-hour or live-in care.

The Comfort Keepers Difference

Comfort Keepers leads other in-home elder care providers in quality of care and our effectiveness in preserving seniors’ independence. Following are the reasons why:

  • The quality of our caregivers: We maintain high standards for screening and selecting our caregivers, whom we call Comfort Keepers. We hire only people who have a true gift and heart for serving seniors and with whom we’d be comfortable caring for our own loved ones.

We also look for experienced caregivers. In fact, 90% of our caregivers are certified nursing assistants. No matter their experience, however, we provide all Comfort Keepers extensive training in Comfort Keeper’s distinctive brand of senior care. In addition, they complete annual training to maintain and enhance their caregiving skills.

We hire caregivers who go the extra mile for their clients. In fact, two of our Comfort Keepers drove more than 100 miles and spent the night as a hurricane was approaching the region, to care for an Alzheimer’s client who would have otherwise been alone.
  • Interactive Caregiving®: This is Comfort Keepers’ special brand of caregiving. Through Interactive Caregiving® our caregivers engage seniors in their caregiving and provide them numerous opportunities to stay active physically, mentally and socially. This approach helps Comfort Keepers clients maintain a greater sense of control over their lives. Examples of Interactive Caregiving® activities include walking and other physical activities, puzzle solving, board games, hobbies, conversing and reminiscing, visiting friends and going to favorite places, such as church, a social club, cultural events, a senior center and the grocery store.
  • Matching clients and caregivers: We match new clients with Comfort Keepers who have compatible personalities and interests. We also match them based on a client’s care needs and a caregiver’s special caregiving skills. We’ve found that good matches lead to good client-caregiver relationships, which lead to excellent caregiving outcomes and in turn help our clients feel more at ease.
  • We employ our caregivers: As employer, we have greater control over the quality of our caregivers. In addition, as the employer, we bond and insure our Comfort Keepers as well as pay payroll taxes and workers’ compensation—a significant advantage as most homeowners’ policies don’t cover injuries of caregivers while in a client’s home. Another advantage we provide our clients: We carefully screen all of our caregivers for criminal and driving records for the safety of our clients.
  • Our scheduling and tracking system: In the event a caregiver is absent or late, this state-of-the-art system immediately notifies us within 7 minutes so we can immediately provide a replacement caregiver.

Supporting Families through Respite Care

We give families the freedom to choose how involved they want to be in caring for their loved one. And we stand beside families to provide them the support they need to see to their loved one’s well-being. With compassion, our Comfort Keepers care for their clients with the level of compassion and understanding they’d give a family member of their own.

For families who are actively involved in caregiving, Comfort Keepers offer respite caregiving. This provides family caregivers opportunities to take a break to get needed rest, go to work or take care of other responsibilities.

Comfort Keeper In-Home Care Services

Our broad range of in-home senior care services includes:

  • Personal Care, including assistance with hygiene, such as showering or bathing, skin care, feeding assistance, toileting and incontinence care, mobility assistance at home and in the community, and transfers to and from a wheelchair, bed or chairs. These services promote the well-being and support the dignity of seniors.
  • Companionship Care, which offers seniors the comforting companionship of a caregiver, who helps with household tasks, such as light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, dressing and grooming assistance, medication management, transportation and errands.
  • Home Health Care nursing services, which include management of clients’ medical conditions.
  • 24-hour and Live-in Care for seniors who need help at home 24/7.
  • SafetyChoice® Technology Solutions, devices that supplement caregiving by helping seniors live safely at home between visits by a caregiver. These devices, which are constantly monitored, include a personal emergency response system, with which seniors can call for help with the push of a button, and a medication management system that reminds seniors to take medications on schedule, while alerting caregivers when a dose is missed.
  • Post-Hospital Care and Support for in-home clients while they recover following surgery or hospital care of an illness or injury.
  • Hospice Care Support that includes personal and companionship care services that help hospice patients live more comfortably at home. These services are provided in partnership with hospice nursing services.
  • Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care that allows seniors and other adult clients to continue living safely at home, with as high a quality of life as possible, after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Comfort Keepers, who are specially trained in dementia care, also support family members in providing a safe, beneficial home environment for their loved ones. They share caregiving responsibilities with family members so they are not alone.

Our Comfort Keepers franchise, unlike many home care providers, accepts Medicaid and VA benefits as payment for services.
