About Comfort Keepers

Jeanne Anderson is the owner of Comfort Keepers in Charlotte County.  Since 2003, she has been helping seniors live independently by providing non-medical in-home services which allow them to continue to live comfortably and safely in their own homes.   “It is only natural that someone would want to stay in their own home and Comfort Keepers is passionate about helping them fulfill their dream and provide peace of mind.”   As a Certified Senior Advisor with a background in gerontology, Jeanne and her staff are a great resource in the community on various topics that relate to seniors, caregiving and the aging process.

A Personal MessageJeanne Anderson, Certified Senior Advisor, Owner, Comfort Keepers, Charlotte County, Port Charlotte, Florida

I have been asked why I became a part of the Comfort Keepers organization.  I think I must have been a Comfort Keeper all of my life. It is a philosophy with personal significance to me and I believe in it steadfastly.  I am driven to help people fulfill their wish to live out their lives where they want to be and with their loved ones in their home.  When I moved to Charlotte County I met other men and women who believed in Comfort Keepers as much as I did, so I rounded them up and began matching them up with the seniors in our community who wanted to stay in their homes but needed a little assistance to live there safely.

Who are the Comfort Keepers in Charlotte County, Florida?

We are a close-knit group of hard-working, compassionate, proactive women and men from about age 30 to 80 devoted to being of service to people, especially older people.  Yes, we love to cook and clean, listen as well as talk, and observe and tend.

There's so much more to being a Comfort Keeper than just cleaning someone's house, although that is an essential service for to someone with limited mobility or vision impairment.  We are a second set of eyes and ears to ensure nutritional needs, hygiene, proper management of medication, and fight against elderly fraud and elder abuse.  Our services help alleviate the tremendous amount of stress that is placed on seniors and their friends and family when they are ill or experiencing difficulty with memory.  And in everything we do, we are also companions.  We help maintain quality of life by helping our senior partners to stay active mentally, physically, and socially.

Credentials

As part of our commitment to meet the key needs and issues of the seniors in my community, in December 2003 Jeanne completed a course in gerontology under Dr. Linda Buettner, PhD, of Florida Gulf Coast University and Director of the Center for Positive Aging. In July 2004, Jeanne completed training as a Certified Senior Advisor.  In earning the CSA certification, she received comprehensive education in the health, financial, and social issues facing seniors.  High ethical and professional standards and continuing education are required to use the designation Certified Senior Advisor.  The Society of Certified Senior Advisors is the world's largest membership organization educating and certifying professionals who serve seniors.  Certified Senior Advisors (CSA) have supplemented their individual professional licenses, credentials and education with knowledge about aging and working with seniors.  Know what those licenses, credentials and education signify.  The CSA designation alone does not imply expertise in financial, health or social matters.  Details: www.csa.us
