Meet Our Jackson, MS Comfort Keepers®
Comfort Keepers of Jackson hires only people we would feel comfortable sending to our own parents’ homes. That is, we look for people who have an innate spirit of caring for seniors.
To become a Comfort Keeper®, candidates must complete a thorough screening process that includes multiple interviews and background and reference checks. And every candidate must pass what we call a “lovability” test before being hired. That is, their natural concern and compassion for others must shine through. “To be a Comfort Keeper,” describes one member of our team, “you need to look at this as more than a job, but a way of serving others with warmth and compassion.”
Comfort Keepers also complete extensive orientation and training before serving their first client. And they complete ongoing training to maintain a high level of skills.
Interactive Caregiving™
Our Comfort Keepers are specially trained in delivering our distinctive brand of non-medical, in-home care—Interactive Caregiving™. Through Interactive Caregiving™, Comfort Keepers engage clients in an invigorating mix of activities that enrich their lives physically, mentally, emotionally and socially and help them achieve as high a level of independence and quality of life as possible. Comfort Keepers intersperse these activities in their schedule of homemaking and personal care services.
Depending on a client’s interests and abilities, these activities may include walks in the neighborhood, working on puzzles, favorite pastimes, visits with friends, trips to church and community activities, fixing a meal, or reminiscing and engaging in conversation. Research shows that this approach to senior care improves physical and mental health, enhances independence and elevates quality of life.
