About Comfort Keepers

My name is Paula McMahon and my Comfort Keepers office is very pleased to welcome you to our family of caringiving support.  Comfort Keepers® is dedicated to providing in-home care to those in our community who need help with activities of daily living or assistance with their personal care needs.  We provide the care that helps enrich the lives of our senior citizens and helps them remain in the familiar surroundings of their home versus seeking other care alternatives.

Families choose Comfort Keepers for different reasons. For some, it is for extensive care. For others, we offer a much needed break or 'respite' for family members who regularly provide care.   The most important thing to know is that each Comfort Keeper is carefully selected, screened and trained for capable and compassionate care.  Each Comfort Keeper is screened through extensive background checks, is insured and bonded, and is covered by Workers' Compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families AND our Comfort Keepers!

Since 2003, we have been proud to work with several of our County agencies that can povide a stipend to help defray some of the expense.  We also work closely with our local Alzheimer's Association and we specialize in the care of those suffering from AD and other dementia's (Parkinson's, Lewy Body disease, etc.).  Many of our Comfort Keepers have been formally trained by local chapters as well as our own in-house training and certification.  We help you manage the care of a loved one that suffers by:

• Assisting the client with dressing or grooming
• Aiding the client in communication
• Improving eating habits with healthy meal planning
• Enhancing home safety by implementing measures to prevent wandering or driving
• And….much needed respite care for family members who may be primary care providers for the Alzheimer’s patient
