To Serve You

Comfort Keepers® of Stuart, Florida

Our Mission is to provide our Treasure Coast clients with the highest level of quality of life possible. We treat each of our clients with the respect and dignity they deserve, as though we were caring for a member of our own family.

Comfort Keepers approach of Interactive Caregiving™ is an integral part of how we provide in-home care, so seniors can live happy, independent lives. We continually communicate with, involve and engage seniors in everyday tasks and activities. We strive to transform routine activities into opportunities to stir memories and provide cognitive exercise. It serves to keep a senior mentally strong with a positive attitude, increasing their independence and improving their quality of life.

Interactive Caregiving is at the very heart of Comfort Keepers. Interactive Caregiving is a philosophy of care that engages the senior and enables them to live happier, more meaningful lives. Instead of "doing for" the client, we provide care by "doing with" the client, engaging their participation of their level of function.  Each client is assessed for his or her interests and past experiences, and this information is shared with the caregiver. In turn, the caregiver can then look for opportunities in everyday tasks to involve the senior, encourage reminiscing, and enable the senior to feel valued and involved in their own lives.

Our History

The Comfort Keepers'® story began in 1997 when Kris Clum, a registered nurse in home healthcare, experienced the need first hand. Sometimes the requests were simple – a loaf of bread or a quart of milk. Sometimes, it was simply a request for a few minutes of conversation to brighten the day. However, as a nurse, she was only allowed to tend to her patients’ “medical” needs. Kris and her entrepreneurial husband, Jerry Clum, Jr., knew they could provide a solution. Today, that solution is known as Comfort Keepers. Comfort Keepers provides in-home care to thousands of people.
