It’s been over a year since I made the decision not to put mother (Millie) in the skilled nursing home after her stroke. I had hoped she had more living to do and I desired a better quality of life for her than what she was receiving in the health care center. The nurses were not optimistic that mother could handle assisted living and would only let her try it with extra help. Well thanks to Comfort Keepers caregivers, they were proved wrong. I know now with the progress mother has made with your help, I made the right decision.

I just wanted to say a personal thanks to you for your special care, kindness, and dedicated service to Millie. She has come a long way with your help. She is much more alert and happy now. She is enjoying her “real” food, too, thanks to your assistance at mealtime. She even seems more willing to join in the social activities thanks to your encouragement. Everything you help mother with is a blessing for me, too.

Total Knee Replacement is a tough procedure and being a widower living alone made it tougher. I was fortunate to be taken care of in a very professional way by the Comfort Keepers. This included security from falling, bathing, light housekeeping and a clean bed and companionship by bonded and trained staff- for which I am most appreciative.

I would recommend this service to anyone who wants to stay in their home after a medical procedure that requires recovery, when you just can’t do things on your own.

“…A Critical Decision, A Great Choice…”

…it was time for our dad to return to his condo. After making a decision on an outpatient rehab facility it was time to make one of the most important decisions since the day of his stroke. It was time to select a company to provide our father with care in his home. The reason this decision became one of the most critical was because so much was happening at once. All of a sudden, some of the other past decisions seemed small. We were faced with the transition of what felt like “leaving” our dad and counting on someone else to keep him safe. As with all of the recent selections regarding our dad, it was unacceptable to us to find anything other than “the best”.

The reason we chose Comfort Keepers is because you sent the owner of the company out for the interview. Tina was warm, positive, knowledgeable and very competent. Above all though, the reason we chose Comfort Keepers is because it was clear that she and her husband, Bill, had chosen this career for the right reasons. She seemed dedicated to providing quality care because she believes people deserve it, not just because it’s what we wanted to hear. 

There are many reasons we have continued to choose your services (“we” now includes our dad). Our dad has remained safe in the care of your caregivers. They have done some special things for our dad, which have made him feel like they really care about him. They have always been on time. If we have had any questions about an employee, you handled it in an honest, professional manner. We are at ease when we know that one of your employees is with our dad. We also appreciate all the communication we have had with you and your staff. 

Deciding who would provide our dad with care in his home has been a choice that is ongoing, day in and day out. It is a decision that can impact his “spirit” in a positive or negative way. In our eyes, it has been a great choice.
