Judy Edgemon and Sonya Smith are excited about being in the position of helping others.  Helping others in their community has always been a very important part of their lives.  Before owning Comfort Keepers they owned a Day Care for 10 years.

 Because of the stroke Judy’s husband and Sonya’s father suffered , they experienced the loneliness, frustration , the love and joy of caring for someone who could not care for themselves. During many days in the hospital and rehab centers Sonya decided that being a nurse would be the best help she could give to her mother and father. After her graduation she began work in a nursing home as the LPN. After caring for the ones that could not go home and sending home the ones that were discharged her heart was broken as they would beg her to come home with them and help them do the things they could not do. When she began seeing them returning to the nursing home permanently because they had no one to provide that little assistance so they could remain independant and safe in their homes she began a of what to do to help.

She and her mom began looking into ways they could achieve their goal of keeping seniors stay safe and independent in their home and discovered Comfort Keepers was the fastest growing non-medical franchise providing quality care while improving life’s.  They knew this was their answer to being able to bring peace of mind to both clients and their family’s.

We are licensed by the State of Florida as a Home Health Agency.  License # HHA 299992363.  Our telephones are answered live 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Client Care Coordinator is constantly involved with your care and satisfaction through in-home visits and telephone calls.

Our Caregivers receive on-going training.  Our Caregivers arrival and departure times are automatically logged via a computer.  Our Caregivers are our employees. We handle all payroll taxes and provide Workers' Compensation for all our employees.  Our Caregivers provide Interactive Caregiving.
