Comfort Keepers® of Rancho Cucamonga, California
Comfort Keepers specializes in quality in-home care, helping seniors and other clients with the activities of daily living so they can continue living as independently as possible in the comfort of their own homes. As we support them with companionship and personal care services, we enable Comfort Keepers clients to achieve a higher quality of life as they maintain enriching connections with friends, family and community.
As our country’s elderly population continues to grow at a record pace, more and more senior citizens are choosing to age at home—that is, continue living independently for as long as possible in the comfort of their own homes. Michael and Kathleen Craig founded Comfort Keepers of Rancho Cucamonga to offer seniors in surrounding communities the opportunity to do just that.
To Comfort Keepers, In-Home Care Is Personal
Comfort Keepers of Rancho Cucamonga personalizes in-home senior care, tailoring services to meet each client’s and family’s specific needs. No two care plans are alike, just as no two seniors are alike.
At a free in-home consultation, our Care Coordinator meets with prospective clients and their families to familiarize them with our services and to learn from them the types of assistance they need. From this information Comfort Keepers develops a personalized plan of care to promote the senior’s quality of life and independence.
The consultation also allows the Care Coordinator get to know the senior, to match him or her with a caregiver who has a compatible personality, similar interests and appropriate skills and training. We know from experience that good matches lead to the best caregiving outcomes.
We come alongside families to help them provide the best care for their loved ones and encourage them to be as involved in the caregiving as they are able. To make sure family caregivers take breaks and get needed rest, in the interest of their own health, we provide respite care services. And in all cases we keep families fully informed about their loved one’s care and any changes we observe that may signal a need to modify their care plan.
Comfort Keepers regularly reviews the care plan of each client to make certain it continues to effectively promote the independence and quality of life of the client. To monitor and maintain the quality of our elder care services and the performance of our Comfort Keepers, our supervisors schedule monthly visits to clients’ homes. They observe and gather impressions from clients and caregivers to make certain we are offering the most effective care for each client.
In-Home Alzheimer’s Care
Through our Memory Care program, Comfort Keepers of Rancho Cucamonga makes home an effective, therapeutic environment for care of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related conditions. This service is provided by Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Home Health Aides who have completed special training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care. They have the knowledge and caring nature to effectively communicate with and promote the quality of life of people with these conditions.
We match Memory Care clients with Comfort Keepers who possess the skills and personality best suited to each client’s condition and circumstances. We schedule Memory Care for as little as an hour or two a week to full time, including overnight care, which allows family caregivers to get a good night’s rest.
Technology Solutions by Comfort Keepers
Comfort Keepers provides technology solutions to extend and enhance the personal senior care services provided by our caregivers and family caregivers. These solutions help assure the safety and independence between caregivers’ visits. They include:
The Comfort Keepers computerized tracking system keeps clients and families informed about their care and helps assure them time, quality service. The system emails family members a care schedule so they know when to expect a caregiver to arrive. In addition, the system automatically notifies the Comfort Keepers office when a caregiver is more than five minutes late for an appointment. A manager will then follow up to assure the client receives care.
Comfort Keepers’ SafetyChoice® Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) makes it easy for seniors to call for help in the event of an in-home emergency when they are home alone. With this system, a Comfort Keepers client wears an emergency call button on a pendant or bracelet. With a push of the button the client instantly alerts help. The SafetyChoice® monitoring center dispatches help 24/7. Calls also can go out to 911 and family members. PERS gives family members and seniors peace of mind knowing that the system brings help in the critical minutes, reducing the severity of injury or illness.
The MD.2 medication management system helps Comfort Keepers clients take full advantage of the health benefits of their medication by reminding them to take it on schedule. A caregiver loads the unit with the medications and sets it like an alarm clock. The MD.2 dispenses each dose when the senior presses a button in response to the reminder. If the client fails to respond to a reminder, the MD.2 automatically alerts a caregiver or other designated person, who checks in to make sure the senior takes the medicine.
