MEMORY CARE

We understand the delicate nature of clients suffering with Dementia or Alzheimer’s, and we provide a specialized care program that best meets these needs. By utilizing Certified Nursing Assistants or Certified Home Health Aides, both with additional training on Dementia and Alzheimer’s needs, we match clients with the best possible caregivers. Our additional training gives caregivers a more in-depth understanding of Dementia or Alzheimer’s, as well as plans for responding and communicating with clients.

Memory care can include as little as an hour or two a week or as much as full time care. We even provide a special nighttime care, where a caregiver is at the home overnight to allow families to get the rest they need to be invigorated to take on the next day.

CARE TECHNOLOGY

Comfort Keepers provides three innovative, life-saving technologies for their care programs:

Safety Choice is the perfect solution for clients who still desire their independence and families who are concerned for their loved ones safety. This emergency response system enables clients the freedom and independence to remain in their own home. While wearing our Safety Choice button as a pendant or a bracelet, in the case of a fall or emergency situation loved ones can immediately contact help with the mere push of a button. This is an around-the-clock system that automatically puts them through to our 24-hour call center, 911, or members of their family. Safety Choice provides security for families to feel at ease knowing that their independent loved one is safe every hour of every day.

In order to ensure that your loved one gets the best care possible, we have designed a computerized tracking system for our care programs. This system emails schedules to families so they know exactly which caregiver taking care of their loved one on any given day. More importantly, this system calls Comfort Keepers directly if a caregiver does not arrive within five minutes of their scheduled time. Essentially, we supervise our people so that families don’t have to.

It can be upsetting and unsafe if your elderly family members begin to forget their medication and take either too little or too much as a result. Our MD2 system provides a seamless way to ensure your loved ones never miss or mistake their medication. MD2 is a machine that is loaded with pre-measured medications and is then set like an alarm clock. Once the alarm goes off to let the person know they need to take their medication, they hit a button and the machine gives out a container with the medication they are suppose to be taking. If they do not respond to the alarm, the machine will automatically call a designated person to let them know that they missed an alarm for their medication.
