About Comfort Keepers® of the Peoria and Bloomington, IL areas

A father daughter team, Paul Carnegie and Julie Carnegie Reams opened Comfort Keepers in Peoria, IL in the fall of 2001. Caring for seniors seemed a natural fit for Paul and Julie. Paul and his family helped to care for his aging parents (who both lived into their mid nineties!) and Julie began volunteering in nursing homes and hospitals at the age of 12.

Caring does indeed run in the family and Paul and Julie’s first Comfort Keeper was Paul’s oldest daughter Linda who took care of their first client and continues to work as a Comfort Keeper today. Paul’s two other daughters work in caring professions, one as a Registered Nurse and the other as a Physical Therapy Assistant and his son operates another local business opened by Paul in 1975 and his son-in-law Dave (Julie’s husband) works as Marketing Manager for Comfort Keepers.
