About Us
Matt Auker opened his Orlando and Altamonte Springs Comfort Keepers offices in 2001. His first experience with home care was personal, when he and his wife, Nina, looked for in-home assistance for her mother.
After this experience, he investigated further, considering in-home care as a business. While Matt has a background in business management and human resources, Nina is a registered nurse.
They’re still finding today that many people are unaware of professional in-home care as an option for seniors. Matt said, “Many people think their only options for their parents are assisted living or a nursing home—or for them to care for their parents at home, without help. They don’t realize that there are professional in-home care providers like Comfort Keepers who are here to help them.
“We’re working hard to make sure more families become aware of the advantages of in-home care provided by Comfort Keepers’ compassionate, skilled caregivers.”
Respite Care
He said that one of Comfort Keepers’ primary services for families is respite care. Through respite care, Comfort Keepers come into the home allowing family members to go to work or take care of other responsibilities with the peace of mind that their loved one is being well cared for.
Matt said he finds in-home care personally rewarding. “I love meeting our senior clients and hearing about their life experiences. It’s a true honor helping them continue living comfortably at home.”
