Because Comfort Keepers are integral to the effectiveness of our senior caregiving, we take an active role in thoroughly screening and selecting candidates. We specifically hire people who have a caring heart for seniors and whom we would choose, without reservation, to care for our own parents.
Our Comfort Keepers are mature, experienced caregivers, with an average age of 50. We provide them extensive training in the Comfort Keepers brand of caregiving, including hands-on training. As we live in a community of many cultures and ethnic backgrounds, we have developed a team of caregivers that is gifted in communicating well with fellow Berks County residents (and native) Pennsylvania Dutch.
To assure successful caregiver-client relationships that promote our clients’ well-being we carefully match each client with a caregiver based on personality, mutual interests, each client’s specific needs, and the special professional and interpersonal skills of each caregiver.
About Interactive Caregiving™
Interactive Caregiving™ is Comfort Keepers’ distinctive style of caregiving—something you won’t find with any other in-home care provider. Through Interactive Caregiving™, our Comfort Keepers enrich the lives of their clients by allowing them to be as involved in their own personal care and housekeeping as they are able. In addition, Comfort Keepers combine routine caregiving services with activities that interest their clients and invigorate them physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.
These activities may include a client’s hobby, going for walks, working on puzzles, conversing and reminiscing, preparing a favorite recipe together, going on shopping trips, and visiting friends or favorite places. The whole idea of Interactive Caregiving™ is to offer meaning and purpose to our clients’ lives and enhance their level of independence and quality of life.
