Comfort Keepers has been providing Non-Medical In-Home Care in Sierra Vista and Cochise County since 2001.
Esther, Sandy, Sandra, and Cynthia are here to answer your questions.
Esther Rullan is our Office Manager. Esther has business administration education and experience. She comes to us from Comfort Keepers of Roswell, New Mexico, where she worked from 2002 untill she arrived in Sierra Vista. Esther is in charge of invoicing, payroll, government compliance, employee reviews and management, creation of procedures and forms, and some client assessments. Esther does some of the hiring and new caregiver orientation, some scheduling, and anything else that needs to be done.
Esther is currently doubling as our primary scheduler. She has the challenging job of matching client needs and schedules with caregiver abilities and schedules. In scheduling, Esther has to match personalities, schedule around pet allergies, and find substitutes during flu season, to name a few difficulties of the job.
Sandy Tisnado, LPN, is our Personal Care Coordinator. Sandy has over thirty years experience in the medical field. She has worked at the former Raymond W. Bliss Army Hospital on Fort Huachuca, as well as Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, and Tricare. She teaches our caregiver classes, provides in-home assessments for our clients, and conducts in-home quality control visits. She grew up locally in Bisbee and Douglas. Sandy is a very good listener.
Sandra Chancellor is our General Manager/Owner. She conducts some of the client care assessments, and some employee interviews and reviews, in addition to other duties. Sandra has family caregiving experience, and sometimes substitutes as a caregiver when we are short of caregivers. She has an AAS in Dental Assisting; her coursework included some nursing courses.
Cynthia Blair is our Administrative Assistant. Cynthia has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Cynthia does some invoicing, prepares some government compliance reports, routes telephone calls, files, schedules, and does anything else we need. As an army wife she has travelled and worked at a number of banks as well as the Department of Defense. She is originally from Texas. She has the most cheerful voice in our office.
Long Distance Care
With so many retirees coming to Sierra Vista and Green Valley, Arizona we are familiar with the elder care needs of people whose families are far away. We can provide the long-distance eyes and ears that reassure family members and retirees that loved ones are receiving the help they need. We utilize in-person, telephone, and internet communications to monitor your loved one's care. You can rest assured that we are taking care of your family member here in Arizona.
Technology Enhanced Care
You can view your own or your loved one's schedule, via a secure web site, to see which caregiver is coming and when.
We utilize a private, internet-based, telephone time-clock system so we know when a caregiver has arrived in your home. We receive internet and cell phone alerts when a caregiver does not clock in within a few minutes of the scheduled arrival time.
Technology is also increasing the care options for those who want to remain home. There are emergency response devices available, and monitoring devices to check for the safety of an elder at home during hours when she is alone.
Dementia and Alzheimer's Care
Our caregivers know how to provide companionship, recreation, and guidance for those who have dementia but want to stay home. We can also provide medication reminders; and help with grooming, dressing, hygiene, and meals. We can provide a few hours of respite care so a family member can get out of the house, or we can provide 24/7 care. Our clients who have dementia are much happier for the companionship and activity we provide. Family members can be relieved and assured that a loved one is cared for.
