Huntersville, North Carolina Comfort Keepers®

Located at 18141 West Catawba Avenue, Cornelius, NC,  Comfort Keepers of North Charlotte and Lake Norman, North Carolina, has earned the distinction of being the preferred provider of in-home care throughout the Lake Norman and University area of North Carolina, including the communities of Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, and the University Area. Since 2001, we have provided a complete in-home care solution to seniors and other adults who need help living independently at home.

Our professional, compassionate caregivers—our Comfort Keepers®—partner with families to help their loved ones achieve and maintain as high a quality of life and independence as possible in their own homes. Our Comfort Keepers care for clients with the same respect and sense of dignity they would provide a loved one of their own.

We tailor our services to meet the unique needs of each client and family, providing as little as one hour of service a week, to full-time, 24/7 care. And we can modify services as a client’s needs and circumstances change, helping them maintain independent living for as long as possible.

Advantages of Choosing Comfort Keepers

  • Clients and families rely on us as a one-stop provider of in-home care. Our Geriatric Care Management Services, select nursing services, and Emergency Response Systems help families and clients develop a complete plan of care to achieve an optimal level of independence and quality of life. We sometimes partner with other health and senior care providers, such as assisted living facilities, home health agencies, and nursing homes, to connect clients with services that Comfort Keepers may not specialize in.
  • We have developed a thorough screening, interviewing, hiring and training process for our Comfort Keepers—to provide our clients the best, most qualified caregivers possible. Before caring for clients, our Comfort Keepers complete extensive training and are reviewed by an RN. To maintain and enhance their skills they complete continuing training each year.
  • Our caregiver retention rate exceeds the industry average, giving our clients and families the benefit of consistently high quality service.
  • We are ready 24/7 to serve you and answer your calls.

Comfort Keepers Services

Comfort Keepers offers a wide range of in-home and senior care options, enabling us to customize care to meet the specific needs of each client and family.

We offer:

Companionship care—conversation, meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry, transportation, errands, reminders to take medications, help with grooming and dressing, and standby assistance with bathing.

Personal care—hands-on assistance with bathing, hair and skin care, shaving, special diet preparation, toileting and transferring/ambulation.

Certified Care Service provides Certified Nurse’s Aides (CNA) for clients who require substantial assistance to perform the activities of daily living. RNs train and supervise the CNAs.

Share the Care Program gives clients who live in assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing or naturally occurring retirement communities the option to purchase Comfort Keepers services in 15-minute increments—instead of the usual hourly units—when others at the same facility also receive Comfort Keepers services.

Registered Nurse Consultations, in accordance with North Carolina licensure requirements, are provided quarterly at no extra fee to our clients who receive any services other than companion care. Additional RN consultations are available as needed for an additional fee.

Geriatric Care Management Services guide clients and families in evaluating and developing plans for senior care. Salisbury Comfort Keepers owner Lori Eberly, who is a Professional Geriatric Care Manager, provides these services at a discount to Comfort Keepers clients and makes them available to the general public. Geriatric Care Management Services include care planning, assessing future care needs, research, care recommendations, client safety assessments, recommended reference materials for families, and more.

SafetyChoice® by Comfort Keepers is a brand of technology solutions that allow seniors to live safely and independently at home, even at those times when professional or family caregivers are away from the home. These devices include:

  • Personal Emergency Response System (PERS), a medical alert device that is monitored 24/7 by Comfort Keepers’ central call center. A senior can instantly summon help by pressing a button on a pendant or wristband.
  • PERS Accessories, monitored by the central call center through the PERS unit, include smoke and carbon monoxide detectors; motion detectors; wireless floor mats that monitor the movement of seniors; and door and window contacts.
  • Medication Coordination System, which reminds seniors to take medications, dispenses them as prescribed and alerts caregivers when a dose is missed.
  • Personal Location Device, a unit the size of a cell phone, uses GPS technology to help locate seniors who become lost. It can be securely carried in a variety of belt and arm clips.
  • Fall Detector, clipped to a senior’s clothing, sends out an alert to the central call center when a senior falls.

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care, which is provided by Comfort Keepers who have received training to meet the specialized needs of seniors with dementia.

Post-Hospital Care and Support to help seniors and other adults recuperate at home following injury, surgery or illness.

Hospice Care, non-medical in-home services that supplement and support the care clients receive from a hospice program.

A variety of other services that can be arranged as needed, including bath visits, “tuck-in” service at night, “rise and shine” service in the morning, and sleepover and live-in services.

Comfort Keepers provides a free in-home assessment that provides prospective clients and families an opportunity to see if Comfort Keepers is right for them—and to design a care plan that meets their exact needs.
