Senior Care in Sandpoint, Idaho
The professional caregivers of Comfort Keepers® of Sandpoint, Idaho, help seniors live happily, safely and independently in the comfort of their own home—the preferred choice of a growing number of today’s senior citizens. We work closely with clients and their families so we can tailor our services to meet their exact needs and enable seniors to live happily, confidently and safely at home as they age.
Working in partnership, we give families the freedom to be as involved in their loved one’s in-home care as they are able. Depending on their circumstances we provide as little as an hour of care a week to full-time, 24/7 senior care.
In a free in-home consultation, we will help you determine the services you need and how Comfort Keepers can help promote independent living at home. We will work with you to develop a care plan that we will review regularly and modify as needed to adapt to you and your loved one’s changing needs.
Comfort Keepers Services
Services provided by the Sandpoint Comfort Keepers franchise include:
- Personal Care, which includes assistance with bathing and showering, hair and skin care, shaving, toileting and incontinence care, help with mobility and transfers in and out of bed and feeding.
- Companionship Care, such as conversation and reminiscing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, help with errands, transportation, and dressing and grooming assistance.
- SafetyChoice Technology Devices that promote safety, particularly when seniors are alone between visits by a caregiver. Comfort Keepers’ monitoring center monitors these devices 24 hours a day. These devices include a medication management system, which reminds seniors to take their medicine as prescribed, and an emergency response system that calls for help, with the push of a button, in the event of an accident or medical emergency.
- Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care that stimulates memories and promotes seniors’ mental functioning. These services are provided by Comfort Keepers who have been specially trained to enhance the quality of life of persons diagnosed with dementia.
- Post-Hospital Care and Support services that help seniors and other adults recuperate at home following surgery or treatment of an injury or illness. Examples of people who benefit from this type of care include those recovering from a stroke and those recuperating from hip or joint replacement.
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) care enables clients to cope with breathing issues as they live at home.
- Hospice Care, which offers compassionate, supportive services to clients who are receiving nursing care from a hospice agency.
Comfort Keepers has developed a network of local health and senior care providers that enables us to offer our clients and their families a complete range of effective solutions to call on as needed. Our network includes home health care agencies, Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Association, independent living facilities, durable medical equipment providers, and senior living and senior support networks.
What Sets Comfort Keepers Apart
Comfort Keepers of Sandpoint maintains high standards of consistent, quality care, with an added personal touch of loving care for our clients and their families. We serve families as a trusted partner, providing their loved ones the same level of concern and attention we’d provide a family member of our own.
Our professional, compassionate caregivers – our Comfort Keepers – are unlike caregivers of any other in-home care provider. They possess three essential characteristics:
- Competency. They bring professionalism and skill to their work, as well as pride and commitment to consistently provide quality care.
- Character. Our Comfort Keepers don’t look at caregiving as just a job. To them, it’s a calling. Their work with Comfort Keepers provides them a satisfying opportunity to enrich the lives of seniors who want to maintain an independent lifestyle.
- Chemistry. Comfort Keepers naturally bond with the clients in their care. They easily relate to seniors and their concerns, and their clients look forward to their arrival.
The Client-Caregiver Match
We put careful thought into assigning Comfort Keepers to care for new clients. A key to Comfort Keepers’ success is our concern for matching clients and caregivers based on the following criteria:
- Personalities
- Common interests
- Skills of the caregiver
- Special needs of the client
We have more than 85 caregivers on staff, which helps us make appropriate client-caregiver matches. We’re highly successful in making excellent matches, but in those few cases when a match doesn’t work, we respond quickly to find another caregiver for you. All you need to do is call.
Assuring Quality Care
Our Client Care Coordinator leads our Continuing Quality Improvement Program and serves as an advocate for our clients. She assures quality service for our clients and their families and provides a timely response to their needs and concerns. Our Care Manager regularly reviews the performance of our caregivers to make certain they consistently provide quality care.
