In-Home Senior Care in Northeast Cincinnati, OH
After working in Corporate America for over 25 years, Mike & Judy McGee were looking for a business they could call their own, and one in which they could make a positive difference in the lives of others, both clients and employees. Following a four year search for such a company, Comfort Keepers became the obvious choice. Helping seniors fulfill their goal of remaining safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes since 2001 has been one of the most rewarding things Mike & Judy have ever experienced. Their team of over 75 compassionate Caregivers provides more than 50,000 hours of in-home care services to seniors in Cincinnati, Ohio every year. Although the business has grown much faster than Mike & Judy anticipated, they have kept their commitment to being the very best they can be, not necessarily concerned about being the biggest senior home care service provider…just the best.
Mike and Judy had always been drawn to seniors and the history and wisdom they possessed. Following the death of Mike’s father and the stroke his mother experienced shortly thereafter, their family came together with church volunteers and friends to attempt to help his mother remain safely in her own home. Even with the sister-in-law registered nurse assisting, it was immediately obvious that they were ill-prepared to handle the physical, mental and social challenges ahead. Mike’s mother was subsequently robbed of her remaining partial independence and had to move pre-maturely to a local nursing home. Mike and Judy, although depressed from their inability to keep his mother at home, vowed that they would draw from their lessons learned and offer assistance to other families experiencing the issues of dealing with aging parents.
James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
The McGee’s have found that the rewards associated with their Comfort Keepers business are two-fold:
1) The obvious is the satisfaction derived from witnessing the joy of a lonely senior when they are given companionship, listened to and provided the respect that they deserve. 2) Watching a Caregivers’ faces light up with joy when they know they have helped someone in need. It is one of the most rewarding experiences to be able to demonstrate your love by assisting someone in a time of need.
