Our special caregivers, called Comfort Keepers® strive to create an environment where our clients minds are stimulated to help them remain sharp and involved, which also helps them maintain a positive outlook on life. Keeping our seniors engaged in activity, whatever the specific activity is of interest to them, is key to creating a sense of purpose, control over their lives and helps to ward off depression, as well as enhancing their physical wellbeing. Our caregivers participate two in-services twice a year along with specialty training such in Hospice Awareness, Alzheimer Awareness, and Elder Abuse.
Comfort Keepers of Pinellas County, offers not only offers in-home services, such as companionship, homemaking, and personal care, but the following as well:
- SafetyChoice® by Comfort Keepers – In-home Care Technology provides an added dimension to help people live safely at home. Safety Choice compliments our in-home care services with around the clock monitoring so you know that help is available. These devices include a Personal Emergency Response system (PERS), which allows seniors to call for help 24 ours a day with the touch of a button, a fall detector, that clips to a client’s clothing in the event of a fall and a Medication Management System that serves as a reminder for clients to take their medications. The drugs are dispensed as prescribed and alerts the caregiver if a dose is not taken.
- Alzheimer’s/Dementia care provided by Comfort Keepers who have completed specialized training to learn warning signs and symptoms.
- Hospice care which includes in-home services provided to support families and clients to complement care provided by hospice agencies.
- Elder Abuse Training teaches caregiversabout the complexities of elder abuse and neglect in the home setting.
