Home Care in Clearwater, Florida

Comfort Keepers® of Clearwater, Florida, has one central mission: to enable seniors and other adults to live full, independent and dignified lives within the comfort and safety of their own homes. Comfort Keepers’ distinctive brand of in-home care, provided by our gifted caregivers, elevates the quality of life of our clients, as it enhances their physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Comfort Keepers surpasses other in-home providers in effectiveness and quality due to the excellence of our caregivers and the style of the care they provide: Interactive Caregiving®.

Comfort Keepers Truly Care

The caregivers, special people we call Comfort Keepers, are the best you will find. We hire only candidates who demonstrate a genuine heart for serving seniors and helping them maintain a high quality of independent living.  To our caregivers, caregiving is more than a job; it’s a calling.

To find caregivers like this, we use a thorough screening and interviewing process that consists of national background checks and personal and professional references. Candidates also need to pass another test before being hired: Would we feel comfortable assigning them to care for one of our loved ones?

Once hired, our caregivers complete an orientation on Comfort Keepers’ special brand of care, Interactive Caregiving, along with other extensive caregiver training. This includes training on the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. To keep their skills strong and up to date, Comfort Keepers complete in-service trainings twice a year, as well as specialized training in elder abuse and hospice and Alzheimer’s awareness.

We enhance the effectiveness of Comfort Keepers care by carefully matching clients and caregivers for compatibility. We consider personality and also match according to shared interests, clients’ needs and caregivers’ special skills.

Our Client Advocate meets with clients two weeks after their caregiving begins to make certain that the caregiver-client match is working for their benefit and to determine whether any changes in their caregiving plan are needed. There is no additional charge for this service.

Interactive Caregiving®

Interactive Caregiving is Comfort Keepers’ distinctive style of in-home care that makes seniors active participants. Our caregivers—Comfort Keepers—allow them to do as much for themselves as they are able, engaging them in the activities of daily living to enhance their independence and quality of life.

Comfort Keepers also engage their clients in activities that add meaning to their lives physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. These activities may include physical activities, such as walking or dancing; mentally-stimulating activities, such as playing games and working on puzzles or hobbies; and social activities, such as visiting friends, going to the grocery or going to favorite places, such as church  or a senior center. Giving seniors the opportunity to engage in activities of interest to them gives them a sense of purpose and control over their lives that helps prevent depression and promotes their overall well-being.

A Caring Partnership

Comfort Keepers stands by families as a trusted, experienced partner, helping their loved ones enjoy a high standard of independent living in the comfort of home. We give families the freedom to be as actively involved in their loved one’s care as they wish and are able. Whatever a family’s level of involvement in caregiving, we maintain close communication to keep them informed about their loved one’s care and any concerns we may have about them.

We help out family caregivers by providing respite care. Through respite care a Comfort Keeper comes into the home to care for a senior, allowing the family caregiver time away for needed rest or to tend to other responsibilities.  While caregiving brings fulfillment to family caregivers, it can be demanding and tiring without the kind of help Comfort Keepers can provide.
