Our Home Care Mission: Helping Seniors and Their Families

Rocky Genovese, owner and founder of Comfort Keepers in Clearwater, Largo and St. Petersburg, Florida, has always had a deep, heartfelt concern for seniors.  “I got involved in home care to help seniors stay as independent, as long as possible,” he says. “Helping them stay in their own homes, where they most want to be, makes a tremendous difference in their outlook, quality of life and health.”

He adds, “I am concerned when I see seniors being forced to move from their homes, because I know, that with just a little help, they could continue living at home. At Comfort Keepers, we’re committed to helping families care for their loved ones so that they don’t feel as if everything is on their shoulders.”

Rocky began his home care career with Comfort Keepers after deciding to find a new vocation that would provide him greater fulfillment and purpose. One experience in particular helped lead him to this new career path in home care. Rocky helped care for a life-long friend who was less than adequately served by an in-home care provider. This latter experience convinced Rocky that there was a need for quality, dependable and compassionate in-home care.

“I share Rocky’s passion for enhancing seniors’ quality of life,” says Diane, who in 2009 joined Comfort Keepers as Community Relations Director. “When Rocky told me he felt we would make a great team serving seniors through Comfort Keepers, I felt the calling in my heart.” She grew up in a close-knit family, and through her elderly aunts and uncles became intimately familiar with the concerns of older adults. “I have always had a fondness for seniors and a keen understanding of their strong desire to maintain independence and comfort in their own homes.”

And through partnerships developed by Rocky and Diane with other senior and health care providers in our region, Comfort Keepers offers a complete care solution for the various stages of a senior’s life. Our partners include home health care and hospice agencies, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
