In-Home Senior Care in Springfield, Ohio

Considered the premier provider of in-home care for seniors and other adults, Comfort Keepers® got its start in the Miami Valley, more than a decade ago. Kris Clum, owner of the Springfield Comfort Keepers office, co-founded Comfort Keepers after discovering, as a registered nurse, that many of her patients needed—besides medical care—help with the activities of daily living.

Their children, busy with work and family, weren’t always available to assist them. Kris felt that with the help of a reliable, quality in-home care provider these individuals could continue living safely and healthfully in their own homes.

Today this proves true in more than 600 Comfort Keepers locations across the U.S. and other countries—including the four Miami Valley/Greater Dayton area Comfort Keepers offices owned and operated by Kris. Our exceptional caregivers, whom we call Comfort Keepers®, serve clients and their families as trusted partners, providing a wide range of high quality in-home care services tailored to each individual’s specific needs—from companionship and homemaking services, to personal care and technology solutions, to respite care to relieve family caregivers.

Comfort Keepers often partners with other Dayton and Springfield area care providers, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health care agencies, and hospice care, to provide a comprehensive in-home care solution.

In addition to providing compassionate senior care, Comfort Keepers serves other adults who could benefit from a little extra help around the home: new moms, individuals recovering from surgery, accidents or an extended illness, and others with specific in-home care needs. Our goal at Comfort Keepers is simple: to allow individuals to enjoy the highest possible quality of life in the comfort of home.

About Our Caregiving Staff

Our compassionate, professional caregivers—Comfort Keepers—set us apart from other in-home senior care agencies. To them, caregiving is more than a job—it’s a joy!

All Comfort Keepers have passed a rigorous screening process that includes criminal background and motor vehicle record checks, random drug and alcohol screenings, and personal and business references. They also complete a thorough interview and testing process as well as extensive orientation, training, and professional development. Each Comfort Keeper completes yearly continuing education and training to maintain excellence. To see the Comfort Keeper of the Month go to In-Home Care Services > Meet Our Comfort Keepers.

Our Client Care Coordinators take the time to match each client with a Comfort Keeper who has similar personality traits and interests. Many times, a deep and enduring friendship develops—another important difference that has made Comfort Keepers the leading in-home care provider.

2010 Comfort Keeper of the Year - Kim McRobie

On December 2, 2010 at our Annual Comfort Keepers Holiday Party Kim M. was named our 2010 Comfort Keeper® of the Year. Kim was named our July Comfort Keeper of the Month and was chosen from the 12 monthly winners to be named Comfort Keeper of the Year.  No one has a heart bigger than Kim’s. She goes above and beyond every single shift and every single day. She has stellar attendance and is a true team player picking up extra shifts at a moment’s notice. She also is a great recruiter for Comfort Keepers, occasionally sending new employees to us by telling how much she loves her job.  Comfort Keepers is quite fortunate to have such a valuable employee as Kim…but the big winners are her clients and their families. She loves every moment she spends with her clients and truly makes a difference in their lives each day.

STOP Senior Hunger Campaign  June 2011

During May, Older American’s Month, Comfort Keepers® (located in Springfield, Ohio) and provider of in-home senior care in Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties  asked the community to make donations to the STOP Senior Hunger food drive to help local seniors and raise awareness for this growing epidemic that impacts millions of older Americans.

All food collected  stays in Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties where the food is collected and benefits the Second Harvest Food Bank in Clark County which serves all three counties. The food collected during the month of May will be given to seniors in need at scheduled distributions in June.

In response to a growing need for awareness about senior hunger, the Comfort Keepers system has launched a nationwide campaign called STOP Senior Hunger to create awareness for the importance of a healthy diet for those 65 and over. This senior nutrition campaign aims to help seniors preserve their independence by providing diet and nutrition information, encouragement and necessities.

Comfort Keepers in Springfield engaged local businesses and organizations to partner together to show their support for seniors needing extra assistance to access food.  With the help of our local partnerships, volunteers and community donations Comfort Keepers in Springfield  collected hundred of  pounds of non-perishable food to feed 1300 seniors in June.  To learn more how you or your company or organization can join the STOP Senior Hunger initiative in 2012 call  Lisa at 937-322-6288.
