Speaker: Jane Parker, MPH, LCSW, DCSW

BIO: Professor Parker, director of the Institute for Psychosocial Health at Tulane University School of Social Work, teaches graduate courses for the School of Public Healthy and Tropical Medicine and the School of Social Work in psychosocial aspects of disaster, comparative treatments of anxiety and depression, and crisis intervention. She is the founder and coordinator of the Certificate Program in Disaster Mental Health at Tulane University in New Orleans.

Learning Objectives: By the end of the conference, participants should be able to discuss theories and essential concepts of treating trauma in health and behavioral health care; list clinical criteria for post tramatic stress disorder and acute traumatic stress disorder; compare the challenges and advantages of trauma treatment in fast-paced environments; select structured instruments and solution-focused questions for use in trauma-focused practice
