Free Service Helps Keep Seniors Cool
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Comfort Keepers is offering a free service to help make sure senior citizens are safe during this heat wave.
The organization has been around for almost nine years and helps seniors with everyday needs. Because of the prolonged stretch of hot days, Comfort Keepers decided to go check on seniors free of charge.
Julia Anders, the owner of Comfort Keepers, said "People that may need some help, but can't afford it and may not have a fan or air conditioning, they can call us and we can dispatch one of our caregivers to go out and check on them. And if they're needy and can't afford a fan, we're partnering with Grabill Hardware to provide them one."
Caregivers from Comfort Keepers live throughout Fort Wayne and the surrounding counties. If you know someone who needs help, call Comfort Keepers at 260-484-5858 or 1-877-484-5850.
