Comfort Keepers appears on News10’s
“Sacramento & Company”

Comfort Keepers’ Vince Maffeo appeared on News10’s weekday show, Sacramento & Company, on Wednesday, January 20.  On the show, he spoke of how closely Comfort Keepers works with discharge planners and case managers at area hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.

Said Vince, “A typical client for us is somebody who is recovering from a stroke or a hip replacement, or some type of a [rehabilitation].”  Comfort Keepers’ staff will meet with the client and his or her family while the client is still in the hospital or skilled facility and will design a care plan to ensure the client returns home safely to the comfort and independence of his home.

Once at the home, the client will be taken care of by a caregiver who’s trained in Comfort Keepers’ “Interactive Caregiving” philosophy; that is, “doing with” the client rather than “doing for” the client.

Vince stressed that it’s important for families to know that Comfort Keepers maintains relationships with almost all hospitals and skilled nursing facilities in Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado Counties.  He continued, “[These relationships] will help ease the transition back into the home so that the person can adjust to his or her life back at the house.”
