Comfort Keepers® of Traverse City, Michigan, provides dependable, high quality in-home care services that help seniors and other adults maintain an independent lifestyle where they most want to be—in the comfort of their home. We tailor our services to fit the needs of each client and family, from as few as two hours a week to full-time, 24/7, senior care.
Our caregivers—Comfort Keepers®, as we call them—serve clients and their families with compassion and professionalism. Providing clients the personal attention they would want members of their own family to receive, they set Comfort Keepers apart from other in-home care providers.
About Comfort Keepers® of Traverse City
Longtime area residents Russell and Leslie Knopp opened Comfort Keepers of Traverse City, Michigan, in 2005 to serve the growing senior population of Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Gaylord and the surrounding areas of northwest Michigan. They discovered Comfort Keepers through a friend who owns another Comfort Keepers franchise.
Previously they had been management consultants, helping nonprofit organizations with planning. Now, with Comfort Keepers, they enjoy making a positive difference in the lives of seniors. Russell and Leslie make it possible for seniors to maintain independence at home and help their families manage the responsibility of caregiving.
Our Comfort Keepers Set Us Apart
Many companies provide in-home care for seniors and other adults. But Comfort Keepers stands above the rest because of the compassionate spirit and dedication our Comfort Keepers have for caring for their clients. They care for them with the high degree of attention they would give a relative of their own.
Comfort Keepers are the key to our successful brand of in-home care, because we have developed a comprehensive screening, interviewing, orientation and training process to make certain we have the best caregivers in the business.
All applicants undergo reference, criminal, credit, driving and employment record checks. We employ only candidates who earn exemplary ratings in all of these areas. Our interview process is designed to find those individuals who have a genuine interest and the personal qualities necessary to provide Comfort Keepers’ high standards of senior care.
Further, our Comfort Keepers complete specialized training so they can help clients attain the greatest quality of life possible. Training is individualized based on each Comfort Keeper’s background and skill level. And our Comfort Keepers complete annual training to maintain and enhance their caregiving skills. Comfort Keepers also covers liability and employment and Workers’ Compensation insurance.
Comfort Keepers: At Your Service
We offer a free in-home assessment to help potential clients and families decide whether Comfort Keepers is the ideal solution for them—and to help create a customized care plan. In some situations we work alongside outside agencies such as nursing homes, hospice programs, hospitals, home health agencies, and assisted living facilities.
We can usually place a highly qualified Comfort Keeper in your home within 24 hours of your request. We strive to match each Comfort Keeper and client based on their personalities, interests, and the client’s special needs, as well as the Comfort Keeper’s training and skills. This leads to a great relationship between client and Comfort Keeper—and excellent outcomes for the client.
We maintain a very diverse group of gifted Comfort Keepers. This allows us to make successful, beneficial matches. Our staff includes certified nurse assistants as well as qualified companion/homemakers.
In those instances when your primary Comfort Keeper is ill, has an emergency or is on vacation, we’ll provide a qualified substitute to meet your needs until your Comfort Keeper returns. You won’t ever need to worry about what to do when your caregiver can’t be with you.
Customized Service
Comfort Keepers works with families to create a customized plan of home care to meet the unique needs of each client. We can provide as little as two hours of service a week—to give family caregivers a break—to as much as full-time, around-the-clock senior care.
We regularly review each client’s care plan and work with the family and client to revise it as needed. As a client’s circumstances change over time, we modify services so the client can continue living in the comfort of home and attain the highest level of independence and quality of life possible.
To offer clients and families a total care solution, we partner with other local health and elder care organizations that offer services that aren’t among our specialties. We work closely with home health agencies, hospice programs, nursing homes, assisted living, hospitals and more.
Our flexible approach to serving the in-home care needs of our clients extends to our invitation to families to be involved in their loved one’s caregiving process as little or as much as they wish.
No Hidden Costs
With Comfort Keepers, there are no hidden costs. You choose the services you need, when you need them. There are no additional charges for weekends or evenings. You are covered by a contract with Comfort Keepers that does not bind you to a long-term commitment. Some of our services may be tax deductible, which is not the case with independent contractors.
