About Comfort Keepers of Central Orange, California

Ron and Patti L’Heureux have owned and operated the Central Orange, California, Comfort Keepers franchise since August 2003. Patti first discovered the value and benefit of home care when she left her career to care for her own mother.

Seeing the positive difference that senior care made for her mother and the fulfillment she felt in helping her mother receive needed care in the comfort of home, Patti began considering home care as a new career path. She started exploring home care franchise opportunities as she saw this as an excellent way to meld her personal interests and business expertise.

She found the perfect fit when she visited Comfort Keepers’ corporate office, impressed by Comfort Keepers’ integrity, the quality of its caregivers and the caregivers’ respect for their clients.

At the Central Orange, California, franchise, Patti fills the roles of general manager and finance director, while Ron directs marketing, technical support and the franchise’s SafetyChoice® technology solutions program, which includes such services as emergency response systems and medication management systems. In order to contribute to their community and further improve the home care industry, they are members of the American Board of Home Care (ABHC), Partners in Care of the West, and the National Private Duty Association.

We Carefully Select & Prepare Our Comfort Keepers

Because they are the key to our success in effective in-home care, our Comfort Keepers go through a thorough screening, interviewing, orientation and training process. They must pass extensive local and national criminal background checks, and they complete multiple interviews. For our clients’ and their families’ peace of mind, we bond and insure our Comfort Keepers and cover them with Workers’ Compensation insurance.

We look for caregivers who have already had professional training as nursing or home health aides, and we provide our own specialized training—including annual coursework to enable our Comfort Keepers to maintain and enhance their skills and quality of care.

To further assure clients of the quality and dependability of our service, Comfort Keepers uses a computerized caregiver scheduling and tracking system that monitors caregivers as they arrive and leave clients’ homes.

At Your Service: The Comfort Keepers Team

In addition to owners Ron and Patti L’Heureux and our Comfort Keepers, the Comfort Keepers team includes:

• Client Care Coordinators, who conduct free in-home assessments to help families and clients determine if Comfort Keepers is the solution for them and to help them develop a plan of care that meets their needs. Our head Client Care Coordinator has 18 years of experience in the industry and is a Certified Nursing Assistant. Our Client Care Coordinators also train our Comfort Keepers and carefully match Comfort Keepers with clients.
• Full-time Scheduler, who makes sure that Comfort Keepers are assigned to clients in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, the scheduler answers phone calls to the office.
• Human Resources Coordinator, who makes certain we hire only the best caregivers to serve our clients.
• Marketer, who promotes Comfort Keepers while establishing partnerships with other senior care and health care providers to connect clients with a complete range of services to fully meet their needs. We partner with hospitals, home health agencies, hospice programs, nursing homes, assisted living, and independent living facilities.

To Meet Your Needs, We’re Flexible

We customize senior care plans to meet the specific needs of each client and family, from a few hours a week to provide valuable respite care for family members, to full-time care for those dealing with situations that demand around-the-clock attention.

We regularly review these plans with clients and families and modify them appropriately as clients’ circumstances and needs change. Comfort Keepers Services

Comfort Keepers of Central Orange, California, offers homemaking, companionship, personal care and other services, such as:

• Comfort Keepers’ SafetyChoice® Technology Solutions, which extend care when family caregivers and Comfort Keepers aren’t present in the home. These include a Personal Emergency Response System (PERS), which provides help at the touch of a button 24 hours a day; PERS accessories, such as a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and wireless floor mats, which monitor the wandering of people with dementia; a Medication Management system, which provides audible reminders to take medications, dispenses the drugs as prescribed and alerts caregivers when a dose is not taken.
• Alzheimer’s/Dementia care, which is delivered by Comfort Keepers who have completed special training to communicate with, respond to, and care for persons with these conditions.
• Post-Hospital Care and Support, which helps clients readjust to life at home after an illness, injury or surgery.
