Some of the specific reasons you should choose the Western Carolina/Northeast Georgia Comfort Keepers are:
1. We value independance. Seniors have a lifetime of living independenty and many grieve over their declining independance and physical ability. We work with our clients to preserve their independance to the greatest degree possible.
2. We are always there. We are a 24/7 service, providing care around the clock. For true emergencies our on-call staff is always available and ready to help solve client care problems.
3. We offer service over a large area. Trained, local caregivers are available in each of the seventeen counties we serve. In North Carolina, we serve: Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Macon, Jackson, Swain, Haywood and Transylvania. In Northeast Georgia, we serve: Union, Towns, Rabun, Lumpkin, White, Habersham, Hall, Stevens, and Banks. You'll still be dealing with the same folks if you move anywhere within our area and you'll still be assured of the same high quality of service.
4. We employ our caregivers; we don't use contract workers. Unlike many agencies, Comfort Keepers caregivers are employees. We rigorously screen all employees for previous criminal, credit, and driving records. In addition, all of our employees are bonded, insured, and are covered by Workers' Compensation. THE WORKER'S COMPENSATION ISSUE IS IMPORTANT! Most homeowners' policies do not cover a caregiver injury while they are on the client's property. Because we employ our caregivers and they are insured and covered by Workers' Compensation, our clients and their families can rest easy.
5. Training is a priority. Our caregivers receive continuous training throughout the year to ensure we are providing the best possible care for our clients.
6. We use a state-of-the-art scheduling and tracking system. If a caregiver is absent, we know immediately and are able to contact the cllient and/or the family and provide a replacement caregiver.
7. We go "above and beyond" every single day. For example, just prior to a hurricane striking the area, two of our caregivers drove over a 100 miles to care for an Altzheimer's client who would otherwise been alone during the bad weather. Our job is a serious one and we treat it accordingly!
